✈️ Thailand Launches Digital Arrival Card to Replace TM6 Form (Effective May 1, 2025)
Thailand is taking a major step toward full digitalization.
Starting May 1, 2025, the traditional paper-based TM6 arrival/departure card — familiar to millions of travelers — will be completely replaced by a new Digital Arrival Card system.
At NPN Legal & Accounting, we want to make sure you stay informed and ready for these important changes.
📋 What is the Digital Arrival Card?
The Digital Arrival Card is an online immigration form that travelers must submit electronically before arriving in Thailand.
It replaces the old system where passengers filled out paper forms (TM6) during their flight or at the airport.
Key Highlights:
-
Submit personal, travel, and immigration information online
-
No paper forms required on arrival
-
Streamlined immigration process at airports

🗓️ When Does It Start?
The Digital Arrival Card system officially launches on May 1, 2025.
From that date forward, all travelers must complete the form electronically before arriving in Thailand.
📱 How Does It Work?
-
Access the official portal or mobile application (to be announced soon by Thai Immigration).
-
Complete the form online — including passport details, travel information, and accommodation address.
-
Submit your information up to 72 hours (3 days) before arrival.
-
Receive confirmation to show at immigration upon arrival.
Travelers who fail to complete the Digital Arrival Card in advance may experience longer processing times at immigration checkpoints.
👥 Who Needs to Submit It?
-
All foreign travelers entering Thailand — for tourism, business, education, or residency.
-
Thai nationals are generally exempt from submitting the Digital Arrival Card.
🌟 Why Is This Change Happening?
The shift to a Digital Arrival Card is part of Thailand's broader initiative to:

Modernize and speed up immigration processes
